FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

The practical things worth knowing before you buy Vinyl. Still stuck? Get in touch.

The basics

What formats can I export?

MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio) in the common social ratios - 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 - at 30 or 60 FPS, up to 4K plus custom sizes.

Which operating systems are supported?

Native desktop builds for Windows 11, macOS 12 (Monterey) or later - Apple Silicon and Intel - and Linux.

Is Vinyl a subscription?

No - Vinyl is a one-time purchase. Pay once, no subscription, and no watermark on your exports.

How many devices does one licence cover?

One licence activates on up to 2 of your own computers. Deactivate one at any time to move the seat elsewhere.

Does Vinyl add a watermark?

Licensed exports are completely clean. The free trial adds a small watermark and limits export length so you can test the quality first; a licence removes both.

Do I need an internet connection to use Vinyl?

No - creating and exporting happen locally on your computer and work fully offline. An internet connection is only needed occasionally to activate or verify your licence.

Creating & exporting

Can I use my own music and artwork?

Yes. Bring your own audio (MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG), label artwork, and a background image or video - it all stays on your machine.

Can I create videos for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube?

Yes. Vinyl ships presets for Instagram (Feed and Reels), TikTok, YouTube (landscape, Shorts and square), Facebook, X and Snapchat - plus bare 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1.

What resolution can I export?

1080p, 1440p and 4K, plus custom sizes - choose the tier that suits your platform and source media.

Can I export multiple videos at once?

Yes. Add projects to the export queue and Vinyl renders them one after another - ideal for a batch of tracks.

What audio formats does Vinyl support?

MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC and OGG.

Can I use a video background?

Yes. Use a video as the background behind the record; it plays muted and loops under your reactive disc.

Can I customise the vinyl record?

Choose a plain disc or a grooved vinyl, set the colour or add your own label artwork, adjust the size and rotation (RPM presets from 0 to 78), and let it pulse in time with the bass.

Can I save and reuse templates?

Yes. Save your setup as a template and reuse it for future tracks - apply, rename, delete, and export/import to share a look or move it between machines.

Can I create videos longer than a few minutes?

Yes, with a licence - export as long as your track. The free trial caps export length so you can preview the result before buying.

Licensing & privacy

What's the refund policy?

A 14-day, no-questions-asked refund. Try the free trial first, then buy when you’re sure.

Does Vinyl upload my music or artwork?

No. Your projects, music and artwork are processed locally - nothing is uploaded and there’s no cloud storage. Saved diagnostics contain system info only, never your media.

Can I transfer my licence to a new computer?

Yes. Deactivate the licence on the old machine and activate it on the new one - handy for a new computer or an OS reinstall.
