2. The desktop app
Vinyl processes your audio, images and video locally on your device. We do not collect or transmit that content. When you activate a licence, the app sends only what is needed to validate it, for example a licence key and a device identifier, platform and app version, so we can enforce device limits and let you move your licence between machines.
3. This website
We process personal data on the website in these cases:
- Purchases. Payments are handled by our provider, Lemon Squeezy, who acts as merchant of record and processes your payment and billing details under their own privacy policy. We receive order and licence information (such as your email and order reference) to provision and support your licence.
- Analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics cookies to understand usage (such as page views and traffic sources). Without consent, no analytics cookies are set and Google receives only cookieless page-visit signals used for aggregate, modelled figures. See our Cookie Policy.
- Support. If you contact us, we process the information you provide to respond.
4. Legal bases
Where the UK GDPR / EU GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing your licence and support), consent (analytics), and legitimate interests (securing and improving the service). You can withdraw consent at any time.

We keep order and licence data for as long as needed to provide the product and meet legal and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise it.
