Summary
The Vinyl desktop app is built to be private: it works fully offline and your tracks and artwork never leave your machine. This website collects the minimum needed to operate, and only loads analytics after you consent.
1. Who we are
The data controller is [Company legal name], [registered address]. Contact: [privacy@reelmaker.app].
2. The desktop app
Vinyl processes your audio, images and video locally on your device. We do not collect or transmit that content. When you activate a licence, the app sends only what is needed to validate it — for example a licence key and a device identifier, platform and app version — so we can enforce device limits and let you move your licence between machines.
3. This website
We process personal data on the website in these cases:
- Purchases. Payments are handled by our provider, [Lemon Squeezy], who acts as merchant of record and processes your payment and billing details under their own privacy policy. We receive order and licence information (such as your email and order reference) to provision and support your licence.
- Analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, non-identifying usage (such as page views). Analytics is not loaded until you accept — see our Cookie Policy.
- Support. If you contact us, we process the information you provide to respond.
4. Legal bases
Where the UK GDPR / EU GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing your licence and support), consent (analytics), and legitimate interests (securing and improving the service). You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Retention
We keep order and licence data for as long as needed to provide the product and meet legal and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Contact [privacy@reelmaker.app]. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
7. International transfers
Some providers we use may process data outside your country. Where required, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are in place.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
